Well, technically, I have always been here .. Just not *here* here. 5+ years of living life to the fullest will create distance with these kind of things (Guilty!) as no, I am not a full-time blogger. I am a full-time follower of Jesus, Wife, Mother, Employee, Uber .. Among other things! Notice I didn’t mention “Chef”, as that is a part-time gig. I am extremely fortunate to have a Husband that leads our home with his culinary skills. I am more of a “.. Let’s get food on the table” kinda gal whereas he is more of a “.. Let’s use every pot and pan and craft from scratch” kinda guy. It’s the perfect balance!
Thursday, March 27th, 2025 started like any other day in the Pullas household .. Alarms, lunches made, dogs fed, and out the door we went. It was a bright, blue sky, sunny kinda of day. I was commuting to the light rail and even sent my Husband a picture of my dream car (BMW X7 – White) that I was behind (This is super common for me to do, as hint-hint, right?).
I remember pulling into the parking deck and something was off – I did not feel well. I chose to take the next train versus the one that I had intended to take to give myself a minute (Insert deep breaths to this pull myself together). Once on the train, this feeling of being “Off” intensifies – Fast forward to my first ambulance ride to the hospital. The next few hours were a blur, however, having the ER Doctor state that they “ .. Are keeping me overnight for observation” and the look on both my Dad and Husband’s faces will be something that I will never forget.
The silver lining is my Best Friend hopped on the next flight to Charlotte from Texas (Because that’s what BFF’s do!) and I was able to witness the most beautiful views of sunrises/sunsets over uptown Charlotte for a few days!
I am currently prepping to run a 15K in which I have a training plan that I started today. I have researched which half/full marathon I may be best suited for and landed on The Gate River Run in Jacksonville, Florida which happens to be in March 2026 – One year post my above mentioned life-changing event. I am SO excited to see what I am capable of! This to say my Husband led a 21-Day Juice diet during October to prepare my body for what’s to come (The pots and pans sure have come in handy!).
I will be using this blog to genuinely hold myself accountable – Especially in the upcoming days/months when I question my “Why” in the ridiculously cold mornings .. Here I am!

I cannot remember the last time that I did not have a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee in my hands. Large, with cream and pumpkin swirl to be exact. Now, with that being said, I have started 2020 on a budget- both personally as well as for our family. This means $3.00 coffees are considered to be a “treat”.. per my budget.

Everyone has a name and a number. Personally, I’ve had several names (maiden, married, nicknames..) and have a number attached that tags along when ever I want to open a credit card or buy a car, among other things. Pretty unique that a name and number DEFINE ME.
Not entirely. My identity is something that I have struggled with for a while. Just this week, I told Paul that I wanted to move to San Antonio, Texas and have a “fresh start”.. side note that I am taking my girls to Texas in April to see my BFF.. but I want to MOVE to a place I’ve never even visited before? I live in a constant state of comparison and let me tell you.. it’s tough. Becoming a mother at the age of 20 with my first born in addition to a new-er wife (going on our third year!) as I navigate being an impactful role model for my children to working a full time job and starting a family business of our own to being a college student (ALL positives, mind you), my “identity has changed/ shoot the “mind thieves have taken over! You know who I’m talking about.. the ones who only speak to YOU. Can bring you down with the blink of an eye? Better yet, can make you question your character?
Placing myself along with my family into a blog might raise an eyebrow or two if I am comparing myself to others- which is why I am doing this. I’m living in an identity that changes daily.. so who is the REAL Ashley? I’m hopeful that I can find her with you.
I read somewhere once that a woman’s mind is like a computer with multiple tabs open all at once. Holy cow isn’t this relatable? Our mind can be our own worst enemy. But why? I like to think of myself as being a Godly woman/ but I’d be lying if seeing “Fill in the blank” posting a vacation picture didn’t open up the jealousy tab.
News flash- the Pullas family isn’t moving to Texas. At least not now. Who know what the future holds/ as that is true for all of us. I was also reminded by a dear friend today that a lot can change in 3 days.. and if you REALLY think about it.. life can change in 3 minutes or 3 hours and then again in 3 days.
Identity is unique. This blog is unique as I begin, too. I know thieves will pop up along the way, that’s life. You’ll have to check back and see which Ashley you’ll get that day 😉 I am not a doctor, a lawyer (even though I’m studying it- hehe), an expert, or anything remotely close to a category of someone who speaks with authority. I am a human being who has stuff that isn’t about that “thieves” life.

With one week on the Blog under my belt, I am quickly learning ALL things related to digital content! Finding the balance is a post for another day, however, the concept and vulnerability that is placed on you (How am I going to be perceived? Wait, are people even going to READ this? What the heck are these buttons for?) have all carried burden over me. Then I pray.
Prayer is the main reason that I can say we are as fortunate as we are with our family business adventure Taczie. Taczie originated from Tank and Ozzie, who as stated in the previous post, are our two family dogs, occasionally referred to as our fourth and fifth kids!

This picture, circa May 2019, was the day that Paul and I decided to start a family business. We didn’t know the who’s, the what’s, the where’s, as much as we were just an excited husband and wife duo that was looking for more. Entering our 9th month, I can say that we have narrowed down a few of those questions, and replaced them with a dozen more.
I pray that you too can find your answers. Maybe you want to open a small business? Or travel? Don’t get stuck within a time frame as much as take this opportunity to be a stepping stone to wherever it may lead you.

Seriously, I love weather. I wanted to be Helen Hunt in “Twister” growing up. She was a badass, nonetheless. Today was no different. I do not, under any circumstances, wish harm upon others and realize that storms can be tragic. It was an intriguing moment watching the clouds roll in and the rain pick up around my office today!
My dogs on the other hand, not so much. Tank, I am fairly certain that he was sleeping on one of his two dog beds throughout the day, as he is prone to daytime napping. Ozzie, Ozzie Oz, AKA “The Blonde Dog”, is a completely different story. Our sweet boy comes from a place that I like to think of as “BP” (Before the Pullas’)- I will save my love of all animals for another post!
I like to think that Tank and Ozzie enjoy these- simply because the ingredients are worth the $$!
Tomorrow is forecasted to have cooler temperatures and sunshine. Perhaps, seeing as that we are in North Carolina, next week we will have snow? Stay tuned..

It is Super Bowl Sunday 2020. Kansas City Chiefs are playing the San Francisco 49er’s. Honestly, I am a Carolina Panthers fan. What I am interested in is the halftime show, like many others. Shakira reminds me of my love for Latin music. J-Lo reminds me that she is 50 years young.
Hi, my name is Ashley Pullas and I make up one fifth of Purely Pullas. This is my first time blogging. I encourage honesty and choose to write to the free world about all of our families trials and tribulations. Lets get real about balancing a home/work life all while building a business brand. And don’t forget about my dogs- I will speak of them often.
Back to the Super Bowl. A sporting event that brings the world together. Isn’t it nice to think that people are so passionate about something? Take Super Bowl food for instance.. the love for chili and wings. It makes me think about association. What do you associate with something that you are passionate about?
